Appointed by Governor Kay Ivey in 2024 after the retirement of longtime Sheriff Huey \u201cHoss\u201d Mack, Lowery came into the role with nearly thirty years of law enforcement experience. Sheriff Lowery has served within the Baldwin County Sheriff\u2019s Office for nearly 20 years where he began his tenure as Civil Affairs Commander in 2007, moving up through the office to serve as the BCSO\u2019s Chief Deputy from 2018 until his appointment as Sheriff. Prior to joining the Sheriff\u2019s Office, Lowery also spent a decade with the Baldwin County District Attorney\u2019s Office rising from investigator to chief investigator.<\/div>

Lowery is a graduate of Auburn University, the FBI National Academy and the FBI\u2019s Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar, and also served as President of the Alabama chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates. Lowery serves as Vice Chairman of the Baldwin County 911 Board and is a charter member of the Baldwin County Sheriff\u2019s Office Foundation. He is also a charter member and past President of the Central Baldwin Sunset Rotary Club, where he has received a Paul Harris Fellow award.<\/div>

Lowery and his wife, Tonja, have been married for 28 years and are parents to two adult children, Avery and Camryn. They are longtime small business owners, having operated their family pharmacy in Elberta for over 20 years.<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
